Woodland Park Zoo
Visit their Web Site
This is the largest zoo in Washington state and covers over 90 acres. Here you will find over 1,000 animals representing 300 different species. Expect a lot of walking at the zoo, but there are plenty of places for breaks. Some notable exhibits are the Tropical Rain Forest, the Northern Trail and the Temperate Forest. A penguin exhibit greets visitors from the west entrance. The Zoomazium is an interactive playspace for learning and running around where zoo staff gives presentations. During the summer the zoo hosts concerts outdoors on the lawn and summer camps for kids. In the winter, the zoo is lit up for Wildlights. Bring your patience with parking, but you generally an find a space here. The challenge is that the lots aren't really connected to one another, so you may have to drive to a couple before finding a space. - MyGiraffe.com
