This sounds very, very cool. I think I want a copy of this book. Here's what the Nordic Museum put together about this book reading, "Join author James A. Cole for a talk and book signing celebrating his newly published book Drawing on Our History: Fishing Vessels of the Pacific Northwest & Alaska. The quality of the book reflects the culmination of more than 45 years of research and nearly eight years of illustrating and writing by Cole. Consisting of 16 chapters, the book spans commercial fishing vessel types starting with the native cedar canoes and concluding with tendering vessels. Each chapter opens with a reproduction of an original Cole painting of the type of vessel covered in that chapter and is followed by a narrative describing the evolution of the vessel and the fishing methods. The narrative is enhanced with more than 120 black and white ink drawings of fishing vessels at work. "
