Seattle's Bon Odori (also known as Obon) is definitely something not to be missed. It takes place once each summer in Seattle and honors ancestors who have passed on. This festival lets everyone remember and appreciate all they have done for us. This is an an official Seafair event hosted by the Seattle Betsuin Buddhist Temple. In addition to a number of Japanese displays, food vendors, crafts, classes, and entertainment - the main event is a giant dance line that takes place as a giant oval on the street. And if you want to learn the moves ahead of time, there is Bon Odori dance practice the week before the event.
