Let's just get this out of the way right at the beginning. If there were a contest to find out whether a museum was world-class or not, the Museum of Flight would be Seattle's submission to that contest. The Museum grounds are composed of a number of vastly different and insanely interesting exhibits. A good starting point is the Great Gallery where historic military, commercial, and private aircraft are on display. There are even some that let you pop into the cockpit for a view. Attached to this is a control tower exhibit that overlooks Boeing Field, and the Lear Gallery where space artifacts can be found. The highlight here is walking through a display section of the International Space Station. Adjacent to this section is the original Boeing barn where some of the first Boeing planes where built. Most impactful is the Personal Courage Wing of the musuem. The first floor is dedicated to World War II planes and service people, while the upstairs is dedicated to World War I. Across the road from the main exhibits (and you cross the road using one of Seattle's most appealing skybridges) are the Simonyi Space Gallery where you'll see the Space Shuttle Trainer (and this is built at the same size as the real Space Shuttle). And then the newest, and perhaps coolest part of the museum is next door - the airpark. Here you can climb the stairs and walk through an actual Concorde, Air Force One, and a Boeing 787. All in all this museum will take anywhere from 90 minutes to four hours to walk through. It's definitely worth the trip.
