People are recognizing the joy of satisfaction and security of being able to provide for our own needs, shifting for dependence on giant corporations to a healthy interdependence with our local community. Let’s relearn the skills our grandparents knew! In partnership with Meadowbrook Community Center, Sustainable NE Seattle is organizing its fourth annual HandsOn Skill Fair. Folks from our neighborhood have stepped up to share skills such as food reservation, gluten-free and regular baking, basic plumbing and electrical, tool repair, simple bike maintenance, and making lotions, just to name a few.
