The Servant of Two Masters[plays and performances]
Based on Goldini’s 1743 classic of Commedia dell’arte, The Servant of Two Masters tells the tale of woebegone servant Truffaldino who encounters young Beatrice disguised as her dead brother on the hunt for his murderer. Driven to rash decisions thanks to his constant state of hunger, Truffaldino agrees to serve both Beatrice and his other master, Florindo. Hilarious events are set in motion as Truffaldino races from one end of Venice to the other in a desperate attempt to appease both masters, all for the promise of an additional meal.
