Film Screening: A Lot Like You[movies]
From the Wing Luke web site, "Filmmaker ELIAICHI KIMARO was reluctant to put herself into her film about her father. However, as more truths were unearthed, the lens through which they were seen began to matter more and more. In A Lot Like You, Kimaro - a queer, mixed-race, woman of color with immigrant parents - shares her story of how she came to ask about her family, what she learned, and what she was going to do about it. A short question and answer will follow with MAVIN’s Alicia Woods and the filmmaker. Tickets: $10, Museum members $8 includes gallery admission to see our exhibits including War Baby/Love Child: Mixed Asian American Art which closes on January 19."
